Sunburst started offering an in-home consultation where design specialists brought samples into a customer’s residence to guide them in choosing the best window treatment product. In the '70s, draperies and blinds were the common window treatments in most homes. That’s when Sunburst Shutters showed clients a more durable and energy-efficient window treatment: plantation shutters. 

At first, the company offered wood shutters solely. But it became evident fast that Sunburst should create the ultimate shutter – one that provides maximum energy efficiency, and looks as exquisite 20 years from now as the day you had it installed. After much research, sampling, and testing, Sunburst released its Polywood Shutters. 

Once Sunburst offered the first class shutters on the market, they grew extensively, opening stores across the US. In 2008, Sunburst Shutters expanded its selection into blinds, shades, draperies, and window film – and changed its name to Sunburst Shutters & Window Fashions.
